Officers from West Midlands Police’s traffic team were in Bordesley Green East, at a crossing outside an Aldi store, on Tuesday, December 9, poised to stop a suspected stolen car. Two cars passed through the crossing area before police set a stinger trap to stop a stolen Toyota Prius shortly after 10.30am. A male, pictured with a black puffer jacket and wearing grey rubber gloves, was then placed in handcuffs. A boy of 17 was arrested and now faces a number of driving charges. | Birmingham Live

Birmingham commuters are facing traffic delays after the Aston Expressway was forced to close in both directions today. The A38(M) is shut to traffic following problems with the overhead gantry system. All vehicles are unable to access the expressway from Spaghetti Junction, Gravelly Hill or Dartmouth Circus. Diversions are in place and motorists are being asked to leave more time for their journey. | Birmingham Live
