Over Christmas we talked to our guests and volunteers about the 1824 Vagrancy Act. This is a law, still on the statue books, which can be used to arrest, prosecute and fine people who are rough sleeping. Basically, it criminalises homelessness and the threat of arrest can deter people from asking for essential help to get out of homelessness. We asked people what they thought of it. Their response was unanimous. See for yourself. We're campaigning to repeal the Vagrancy Act through an amendment
