Even when slowed down 10 times the wings of this hoverfly are still a blur in flight, but it has time to clean the pollen off its legs. It's probably the very common Sphaerophoria scripta. These can complete a full life cycle in as little as sixteen days (egg to egg-laying adult) and have up to nine generations in a year.
