As spring makes its way to Wyoming and the ice recedes, anglers heading to Glendo Reservoir are likely to notice a large number of dead Gizzard Shad – an important food fish for Walleye. These winterkill events are not a surprise since cold spells that cause water temperatures to drop below about 39°F for prolonged periods of time often can cause massive die-offs of the temperature sensitive fish. This spring, our Fisheries Biologists will survey Glendo to determine if additional shad will have
