Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman David Jiricek, 21, the second blueliner taken in the 2022 NHL draft, will get a fresh start with the Minnesota Wild, who acquired the former sixth pick for defenseman Daemon Hunt,

With Brock Faber and Zeev Buium already in the system the Wild now have three building blocks on the back-end. There is no news on how long Jiricek will remain in the AHL but with an injury to Jonas Brodin and the price they paid to acquire him there is a good chance we see Jiricek suit up for Minnesota sooner rather than later.
