Texas’ measles outbreak — which sickened hundreds of people and claimed the lives of two children this year — is officially over. Officials at the state public health department announced on Monday morning that it has now been more than 42 days since the last outbreak-connected measles case was reported. That means the state’s outbreak has ended.

Texas health officials declared on Monday that the measles outbreak that has sickened more than 700 people in the state and killed two children is over—though they warned that the threat posed by the disease is not.

Two young Texas children died of the virus earlier this year and 100 people were hospitalized throughout the outbreak.
