Post-Thanksgiving travel will be treacherous in parts of the Great Lakes region on Sunday due to heavy lake-effect snow, while biting cold temperatures sweep across a large swath of the United States.

A Lake Effect Snow Warning has been extended until 7 a.m. Tuesday for Ashtabula and Lake Counties. A Lake Effect Snow Warning has also been issued for Cuyahoga and Geauga Counties from 12 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.

As we enter into the weekend, many people are waking up to 1-3 feet of snow with buried cars and snow-covered roadways. Travel concerns are still very prevalent, with the continued closure of major highways and roads with heavy accumulation.
