The first two prototypes for Amazon's Project Kuiper internet constellation took flight today (Oct. 6), lifting off atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket.

Not all of them will fly on the Atlas V, however; Amazon plans to launch batches of Kuiper satellites aboard ULA's new Vulcan Centaur rocket, Arianespace's Ariane 6 and Blue Origin's New Glenn.

United Launch Alliance will launch its 2nd batch of Amazon satellites into space — and it's possible people can see Atlas V rocket far beyond Florida.

All told, Amazon has purchased 77 launches: 38 Vulcan launches, plus nine flights on ULA's soon-to-retire Atlas V, 18 Ariane 6 rockets, and 12 New Glenn missions, with a contract option for 15 more.

ULA Atlas V will have 5 boosters so the potential to see Amazon rocket launch outside of Cape Canaveral, Florida, will be great.
