A winter storm will bring snow and sleet to the Memphis area late Tuesday night. MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A winter storm will bring snow and sleet to Memphis and much of the Mid-South on Tuesday night, February 18. Several inches of accumulation are possible in parts of the area.

In January, the first major snow event of the year, temperatures were higher and the snow accumulation was over two times the amount this time around. Streets were still covered in snow, but because the area never experienced ice or extremely low temperatures, the City of Memphis road crews were able to clear roadways much easier.

Days after deadly storms dropped buckets of rain on Tennessee, a winter storm brought a few inches of snow & bitter cold temperatures to the region.

During a press conference Tuesday afternoon, multiple city officials explained their plan for dealing with this week's winter storm.
