A massive storm system will impact the entire weekend. Any snow this morning will be washed away by rain. Periods of rain through the first half of Sunday also carries a flooding risk. The weekend storm ends with falling temperatures, a return to snow, and gusty conditions.

"How much snow is actually on the ground by the time the event ends is still kind of a big question mark, since there could be some melting as we change over from snow to rain on Saturday night to Sunday morning," said Robert Megnia, a NWS meteorologist.

The final in our series of East Coast storms is headed our way this weekend. And it could be the one with the biggest impact. We’re tracking a mix of snow, ice, and rain that’ll make for a wintry Saturday and sloppy Sunday.

Moisture feeding from the south will bring first snow and then a changeover to freezing rain and all rain across New England. This slow-moving storm could result in sizable snow, ice and rainfall totals, making it potentially the most impactful storm so far this winter.
