Tesla has launched a software update for its vehicles, introducing an artificial intelligence (AI) language model called Grok. According to Electrek, Tesla stated in its launch notes (2025.26) that Grok is now available in Tesla.
Finnish e-motor startup Donut Lab raised €25 million ($29.2 million) in a seed funding round led by Risto Siilasmaa, the founder of cybersecurity company WithSecure (formerly F-Secure). Risto has also joined Donut Lab’s board.
Launched on Saturday, the latest firmware update for Tesla cars brings Grok functionality to some vehicles — namely, only those with an AMD chip inside. That means only Teslas produced around mid-2021 or later can access Grok.
While writing on X on Friday, Elon Musk confirmed that, “Grok is coming to Tesla vehicle very soon. Next week at the latest.” Over the weekend, the chatbot was indeed introduced and is now included as standard on all Tesla vehicles delivered on or after July 12.
