The city will station three drones city-wide to aid in public safety operations and improve police response times from five minutes to two minutes

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) is launching a Drone as First Responder (DFR) program to deploy drones to emergency scenes in under two minutes. According to police, the new DFR program will use three American-made Skydio X10 drones launched from automated stations across the city.

The drones, which will launch from remote docks in three locations citywide, can arrive at the scene in less than two minutes.
