Two meteor showers will peak simultaneously Tuesday night into Wednesday, giving stargazers a celestial double feature. The Alpha Capricornids and the Southern Delta Aquarids will begin their peak late on July 29 into the early hours of July 30.

The Southern Delta Aquariids are a meteor shower typically active for a few weeks starting from mid-July. The shower travels at a velocity of 25 miles per second, according to the American Meteor Society (AMS) and is best seen by those living further south.

Keep your eyes on the skies from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, and you might see an unusual cosmic convergence: two meteor showers, the Southern Delta Aquariids and the Alpha Capricornids, peaking in intensity on the same night.
