CLEVELAND, Ohio – A “Welcome to Atlanta” bobblehead is being issued today – Wednesday, Jan. 15 - to commemorate the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national championship. Ohio State and Notre Dame will play Monday, Jan. 20, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

After not even making the Big Ten title game, Ohio State (13-2) gets a shot at its sixth AP national championship when it plays Notre Dame (14-1) on Jan. 20 in Atlanta. Only the eight-time champion Irish — who won their last in 1988 — Alabama (12) and Oklahoma (seven) have more AP titles than the Buckeyes.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have had a fascinating 2024-25 season. Picked as one of the best teams in the country, with a roster that ranked as the most talented in the entire sport, they found themselves the object of a significant amount of criticism as the season progressed.

With less than one week until the College Football Playoff national championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame, the Buckeyes’ coordinators will offer their thoughts Tuesday afternoon. This is Kelly’s first season on the Ohio State coaching staff but not his first trip to a championship game.
