Rohit Sharma finally produced an innings of note after a series of starts, posting 76 with Shreyas Iyer rescuing India from a wobble with a fine 48 as India defeated New Zealand by four wickets after being set a competitive 252 to win at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Shreyas Iyer (48) and Axar Patel (29) also played gritty knocks when India lost three wickets in quick succession. KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya (18) led India's run-chase in the death overs

New Zealand beat India 3-0 in a test series in its own backyard, a feat never registered before. India went on to lose in Australia. Both series defeats cost India a spot in the World Test Championship final. It has only gained little redemption in reaching the Champions Trophy final here.
