CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cities across Northeast Ohio have opened warming centers and overnight shelters for those who need to escape the cold snap. Cleveland city officials will have warming centers open through Tuesday for residents needing shelter. All four shelters will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
DeKalb County opens warming centers for cold weather on December 8-9, providing shelter, hot meals, and transportation.
People seeking refuge from the biting cold can find it at more than a dozen shelters and warming centers around the metro. Some open only when the temperature drops below a certain threshold, while others have daily availability.

Many organizations around Columbus are working to keep the most vulnerable in the community safe and warm and the 3rd Shift Warming and Cooling Center is working to do just that. Director Jasmine Franklin explained the center provides shelter,
