Oxford University Press has officially dubbed "brain rot" its 2024 word of the year. WBZ-TV's Jon Keller takes a closer look at how this modern condition rose to the top of the list.

Oxford University Press narrowed a list down to six words in November and the world had the opportunity to vote for its top 2024 choice.

“Looking back at Oxford Word of the Year over the last two decades, you can see society’s growing preoccupation with how our virtual lives are evolving, the way internet culture is permeating so much of who we are and what we talk about,” Grathwohl said.
