A Minnesota man accused of killing State House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, Vance Boelter, was indicted on Thursday by a grand jury on eight charges, including two counts of first-degree murder.

Vance Boelter, the man accused of killing a top Democratic state lawmaker and wounding another is now facing new and upgraded state charges. The new indictment comes just a week after he pleaded not guilty to separate charges in federal court.

A Hennepin County grand jury upgraded charges against Boelter in an eight-count indictment that slapped him with first-degree premeditated murder charges.
