The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver John Metchie from the Houston Texans for veteran tight end Harrison Bryant, a person with knowledge of the trade said.

DeMeco Ryans said John Metchie's return from cancer was an inspiration to the team and predicts receiver will do well in Philadelphia.

Metchie, who's entering the final year of his rookie contract, was shipped off to Philadelphia for a 2026 fifth-round pick and tight end Harrison Bryant. The Eagles are regained their 2026 sixth-round pick from the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade from March.
