He also recalls some of the chilling history surrounding Annabelle. “When I met Ed in 1979, Annabelle was already in the museum,” he says. “He had placed that doll in the museum in about 1971.

Matt Rife revealed he purchased the former home of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren and is now guardian of the real Annabelle doll.

"This might be the most important and prominent piece of paranormal history in the world," he said of the Connecticut house and occult museum.

Annabelle the doll is usually kept in a locked glass case at the Warrens' Occult Museum in Monroe, Conn. According to The Monroe Sun, the museum was closed in 2019 due to a zoning violation.
