The first legs of the Champions League knockout phase has come to a close and none of the eight matches ended in a draw. With a spot in the round of 16 on the line, most clashes are hanging in the balance as Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain were the only teams to win their matches by more than one goal.

Jude Bellingham struck in stoppage time to give Real Madrid a 3-2 victory in its Champions League playoff against Manchester City on Tuesday. Bellingham sealed a stunning comeback for holder Madrid in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium after City had led 2-1.

The dream was a clash at the summit, in Munich on May 31; the hope was that another epic would christen this new-look Champions League. Instead, on Tuesday, City and Madrid brought it to life. Madrid stunned City with a late comeback, and won a frantic, fantastic first leg 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
