Pittsburgh’s folk music fans are having a banner week. On Thursday night, the Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland hosted an excellent one-two punch of women in folk, Rickie Lee Jones and Patty Griffin.

The veteran folk singer/songwriter has stayed on the ride since her 1996 debut with A&M, taking her own personal struggles and stories and using them to tell bigger ones with her inimitable songcraft.
