A dog was killed and several people were displaced after a fire broke out at a duplex in Paterson on the morning of Oct. 14.

Twelve residents were displaced, and a dog has died following a house fire in Paterson. Flames broke out around 7 a.m. on Redwood Avenue. Crews spent about an hour getting the fire under control.

Firefighters say the dog was found trapped in a crate inside a bedroom.
