Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is expected to be a head coaching candidate for NFL teams in the offseason, according to the Athletic’s Dianna Russini. This comes on the heels of Smith’s interest in the University of North Carolina head coaching job, which is his alma mater.

North Carolina recently fired head coach Mack Brown, and the school’s process of finding his replacement is underway.

Arthur Smith said that his alma mater North Carolina "reached out" to him, but that his focus is on "one of the best jobs in football" with Steelers.
