The Premier League have denied a request made by Aston Villa to move next week’s clash against Liverpool. Aston Villa will now face a gruelling run of five matches across the space of just 14 days. Liverpool ’s visit to Villa Park was scheduled for mid-March but had to be rearranged when Arne Slot ’s side reached the final of the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool will face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, March 16, and have now seen their Premier League fixture with Aston Villa rearranged
