How to Open Registry Editor as an Administrator. The Registry Editor enables you to configure the Windows operating system on your business computers and change advanced Windows settings.
In Windows 7, click Start and then type run in the search box and select the Run program from the results. When Run opens, type in regedit and tap Enter to open Registry Editor.
