Two Buddhist monks were hospitalized Wednesday night after a pickup truck struck their group along US 90 near the Grand Parkway in Dayton.
One Buddhist monk is now in recovery after undergoing surgery from allegedly being struck by a vehicle along Highway 90 in Liberty County.
Police said a truck struck a vehicle that was escorting the group of monks on a peace walk across the country.
"Several" monks and a driver escorting them were involved in the crash at about 6:15 p.m., according to the monks' team.
Police advise finding an alternate route.
