A report was issued from the NWS Pendleton OR on Friday at 8:11 p.m. for snow and flooding until 10:15 p.m. The alert is for Kittitas Valley, Yakima Valley, Simcoe Highlands, Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest and Lower Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest.
Historic flooding swamps Washington state, federal emergency declared ahead of another round of rain
Thousands of evacuations, dozens of dramatic emergency rescues and major road closures are ongoing as Washington state combats major flooding in at least 16 of its 39 counties.
Over the past five days, Grays Harbor County received a total of 16.5 inches of rain - the highest total rainfall recorded in western Washington, according to data from the National Weather Service (NWS). In Jefferson County, a total of 14.44 inches was recorded at Owl Mountain as of 6:30 a.m.
Warm storms have delayed Washington’s ski season as resorts await colder temperatures and better conditions before opening.
The Seattle area will see patchy fog with rain that persists into the afternoon then drops off a bit before picking up again later Thursday evening.
The heavy rain will bring a second rise, or "crest," for area rivers Tuesday night and into Wednesday. All of western Washington is under a flood watch through Friday.
