V alentin Paret-Peintre (Soudal-Quick-Step) outsprinted Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) to take his first Tour de France stage win (as well as the first win for a French rider in this year's race. The battle for the yellow jersey was in full swing just behind the breakaway with Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) attacking Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) no less than three times.
