Houston’s Azeez Al-Shaair was suspended by the NFL without pay for three games for repeated violations of player safety rules following his hit to the head of Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence, which led to a concussion.

Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was handed a three-game suspension without pay by the NFL on Tuesday for a late hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence during Sunday’s game.

Al-Shaair apologized Monday for his shot on Trevor Lawrence, who left Sunday's game with a concussion after the blow on a slide.
