Ukraine intelligence confirms Russia enhanced North Korean missiles to deadly accuracy while Pyongyang supplies troops and weapons, raising nuclear concerns.

Russia and North Korea plan to restart a direct passenger train service between Moscow and the North Korean capital Pyongyang this month for the first time since 2020, Russia's state-owned rail monopoly said on Monday.

North Korea is estimated by researchers to already operate three enrichment facilities, two of which have been additionally expanded with annexes housing yet more centrifuges. Collectively, the existing sites are estimated to house over 10,000 centrifuges that produce more than 200 kilograms of weapons-grade uranium-235 every year.

North Koreans are "not interested" in entering the country, according to a commentary published by state media.

The nuclear energy agency noted the construction of a site similar to current plants, as Kim Jong-un has been pushing to produce more fuel for nuclear bombs.

Chinese authorities in the northeastern city of Shenyang reportedly arrested a North Korean IT specialist in late April 2025, accusing him of stealing drone technology secrets. The suspect, apparently linked to North Korea’s main missile development agency,

“North Korea has never been as strong – strong militarily as well as strong in oppressing its civilian population – as it is right now,” said Joanna Hosaniak, deputy director general of the Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights.
