Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia and Texas Tech remained the top five teams in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday, while Oregon jumped ahead of Ole Miss after its win over USC.

No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana are closing in on a historic matchup in Indianapolis. If the Buckeyes and Hoosiers win this week against rivals Michigan and Purdue — and in Ohio State's case that's been a big if lately — they'd both bring undefeated overall records into the Big Ten title game.

The No. 2-ranked Hoosiers (8-0 Big Ten, 11-0 overall) are seeking to complete a perfect regular season and clinch their inaugural berth in the Big Ten Championship Game (and likely a spot in the College Football Playoff for the second consecutive season).

Indiana, ranked No. 2 in both the AP and Coaches’ top-25 polls, remained at No. 2 for the fourth straight week. The Hoosiers are coming off of a bye week following a 31-7 win over Wisconsin in the program’s last home game of the regular season.

The Northwest Regional SWAT Team was activated about 3 p.m. to serve a warrant in the 4700-block of Euclid Avenue in East Chicago, police said. The Lake County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force is investigating a murder that took place Tuesday morning in East Chicago, police said. The warrant is related to the homicide.
