Donald Trump had claimed he stopped a "nuclear conflict" between India and Pakistan. Trump had also said that he put pressure on New Delhi and Islamabad to cease hostilities by threatening to cut trade with both countries.

The US-brokered ceasefire agreement will not go anywhere near addressing the fundamental grievances fueling the decades-long dispute over the status of Muslim-majority Kashmir.
