One of the two US warships that came under fire, the destroyer USS Stockdale, has now been involved in three incidents in as many months in which the ship engaged in defensive operations to defeat incoming Houthi weapons, a US defense official confirmed to Business Insider on Monday.

TradeWinds reported last year that the Stena Impeccable is among three vessels in a joint venture between Sweden’s Stena Bulk and US operator Crowley. The trio is employed by the US Maritime Administration (MarAd) under its tanker security programme, in which vessels transport fuel supplies in times of need for the Department of Defense.

Two U.S. Navy destroyers shot down incoming Houthi missiles and drones that were targeting three U.S.-flagged commercial ships that the destroyers were escorting in the Gulf of Aden, the U.S. military said.
