Happy Thanksgiving. It’s been a tough road here for the Patriots. A 3-9 start. Too many penalties. Poor coaching. But enough about all that for one day. It’s time to give thanks. Here are nine Patriot-related reasons to be thankful this holiday season: 1.

The Patriots may be 3-8 and barely relevant in the national discussion, but Maye is impressing just about anyone who has watched him play.

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt isn’t giving Drake Maye a pass for the numerous turnovers. Many have chalked those struggles up to a rookie quarterback learning at the NFL level. However, Van Pelt shot down the rookie excuse when speaking with media members on Wednesday.

Maye is tied for sixth in the NFL with 11 turnovers. He’s lost four fumbles and had thrown 11 interceptions. He ranks third among qualified quarterbacks with a 4.6% turnover-worthy play rate, which is a PFF metric. Since taking over the starting role in Week 6, he leads quarterbacks with 14 turnover-worthy plays.

Rookie quarterback Drake Maye isn't losing sleep over his high turnover rate, and that's ultimately a good thing for the Patriots.
