Heading into Saturday’s game against Charleston Southern, a dejected University of Miami coach Jim Larranaga lamented that his overhauled Miami Hurricanes men’s basketball team had a “very, very, very long way to go,” to be where they need to be.

The Buccaneers led for the last four minutes of the first half and deep into the second half before a 3-pointer from Austin Swartz gave Miami a 76-75 lead with 3 minutes left in the game. A three-point play by Lynn Kidd gave the Hurricanes a 79-75 lead with 2:11 remaining.
