Nick and Lauren's new programmes will begin in February, while Mary Anne Hobbs will return later in the spring with a new show

BBC Radio 6 Music announced a raft of changes to its morning lineup on Thursday (Jan. 9). Beginning in February, Nick Grimshaw will take on the weekday breakfast slot permanently. Previous host Lauren Laverne will move back to a later mid-morning slot when she returns to the air following her recovery after a cancer diagnosis.

Lauren Laverne has announced she is stepping down from her BBC Radio 6 Music show after five years at the helm. On Thursday morning, Lauren shared that she’d made the decision to leave the breakfast show while recovering from cancer last year.

BBC Radio 6 is set for a major shake-up in its line-up again after it was revealed that one of its most beloved hosts is to quit the show amid her ongoing battle against cancer
