An air quality alert covering the entire state of Minnesota continues on Thursday, marring otherwise fairly ideal weather conditions.

While air quality was in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category in Chicago, it was even worse in some suburbs.

"Breathing in the Canadian wildfires smoke cannot be the new normal," said Candice Miller, Macomb County public works commissioner.
